Day 129.

We’re finally back in Utah.
It seems like I’m back every weekend.
This time the drive was better.
I was in the car with 3 sweaty, smelly, athletes.
Emma. Sarah. Colten.
We jammed out to Shakira and the Prince of Egypt soundtrack…..
And Emma’s snoring.
It was a good drive.
Oddly enough…
Idaho looks different every time I drive through it.
Anyway….

Dear world.
Guess what.
Just in case you didn’t already know….
The end of the world [obviously] wasn’t today.
But…..
There was a zombie apocalypse this morning.
Me and Emma were watching Extreme Makeover: Home Edition when my dad came through the door telling us to “Hurry!” and that we were going to miss it….
We look out the window and look what we see….
A zombie, of course.

Emma wanted a picture.
I told Mason that if he got a good picture I’d give him a dollar.
He succeeded.
See our zombie?
It just so happens that the little Jensen boy decided to walk around the neighborhood looking like this today…
Of all the days.
We sure got a laugh out of it.

Me and Emma’s one task for the day:
Make Sterling Buckeyes (aka Chocolate Peanut Butter Balls)
But we had other things to accomplish today.
We went to the mall slash shopping.
It was an optimum day.
XXI, Pretzel time, the bubble gum stand, the Indian store, Payless, Downeast, Claires, DI, Target, Old Navy and I’m sure there was somewhere else….
I purchased shoes, 2 shirts, 2 sweaters, new earrings, and Haagen-Dazs yummy-ness.
Emma bought a lap desk….
[hahaha….]
After we decided that we were all shopped out we stopped for a moment at the AF vs. West baseball game.
She was fully introduced to American Fork there.
Everyone was concentrated on the game….
Someone may or may not have been having a stroke….
But they just kept watching the game.
After the game we drove to the pond.
I love the pond.
We put our feet in the freezing water and Emma couldn’t find a rock to skip, but instead she found a dead fish and a squished [on the sidewalk] fish.
Yum?Oh.
We also felt the need to prepare for the zombie apocalypse.
We got our guns and light sabers ready.
Were you prepared?
Unfortunately we didn’t have tang [like the drink] since we found an article saying that was a necessity to zombie survival.

Just in case you’re still hiding under a rock….
The world didn’t end.
It was 7:01 pm and I was still alive and well.
Great news.
Colten got his mission call tonight.
But while we were waiting for Jace to get home so he could open it, we took advantage of free time.
You see….
Colten’s girlfriend has thee coolest car.
2011 black and yellow Camaro.
And I was matching it…
This doesn’t happen very often

Obviously Emma wanted a picture too….
Who doesn’t?

To the important part of the day.
And the reason we came home this weekend….
Colten has been called to serve as a missionary in the Mississippi Jackson Mission.
We are soo excited for him!
He will be a fantastic missionary!
He heads to the MTC September 28.

Also.
It was decided that me and Emma wanted to go to Zupas for dinner.
We drove down their speedy quick since they close at 10 on Saturdays and Colten didn’t open his call until like 9:10.
Don’t fret.
We made it.
We even saw the lovely Mallory Ash.
I was telling Emma how amazing her voice was and we wanted to be uplifted by her talent.
We asked her to sing.
We did.
Yes , world.
Mallory Ash sang to us in the Zupas line.
I couldn’t have had a better experience there.
The manager slash person in the maroon shirt told me that we [me and Emma] were considered regulars now since we got her to sing.
I was so pleased.
Happy day.
Next time you’re there…..
Ask her to sing a note for you.
Seeing that me and Emma still had many things to do we took it to go.
We wanted to watch a movie and enjoy our food.

The movie was good.
We finished at 11:30 and then speedy quick began to make the buckeyes [aka chocolate peanut butter balls]….
Friend.
You better enjoy them.
Oh.
Last thought.
This morning Emma told me she was a vampire and you can’t see her in the mirror.
Odd.

They better turn out good.
See you tomorrow Idaho.
